Wow ! this is great, I will check in regurlarly to see what's new in the Endeavour Blog.
Great Idea! The better we can communicate, the more we can resolve our problems and enjoy our great boats! I am definitely adding this site to the "favorites" list! Happy Trails and Full Sails to all! Cap'n Mike and SaltyDogge E-37 SeaGull
Paul, Great idea, we are owners of a Endeavour 42, S/V VINDICATOR out of Kemah TX, we live in Bailey Colorado at our ranch.. our Endeavour has been great! look forward to reading this blog
A terrific addition to the Endeavour Owners Forum. Are you moderating it, Paul? If we all endeavor (pun intended) to keep postings terse, it'll be a great way to pass useful info. regards, Fast Fred and Big D E40 Liberty
OK, do we have Endeavour Owners in and around NOANK, CT.
Euphoria 111 sails out of Noank. Home port Rye, NH Will be in the area of Gardiners Bay, Shelter Island; Lake Montauk NY for the next week. Hope to see other Endeavours on the seas, this summer
Matt and Rachel Fenkse just returned to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands after a 3 month cruise around the Caribbean. Had a fantastic time, and our 40 footer "August Moon" was sweet the entire time.
If anybody finds themselves in Nevis, there is an E-40 buried in the sand on the NW side of the island (I believe it was in Cades Bay). A small resort is turning her wrecked hull into a bar or a place to sit by the bar or something like that. The starboard side is stove in and we were told that she was a Hurricane Hugo victim.
Her hull number is ENC 40233M84E and the stern says "Jenny" from Road Harvbour BVI.
I like this idea. Is there a way to post a new topic? I have a few questions on my Endeavour 42. We recently started sailing around the Bahamas/Caribbean. SailBlueRunner.com
Does anyone have/know about OEM fabrics for the 1980 E37 A-Plan? I need a missing long cushion up front in the vee area, blue sorta paisley stuff... The rest is in good shape and I hate to scrap it all if I could find a used cushion or a source for the pattern I need to match. This is probably one of my least issues with the boat, but it is a big cosmetic thing! I have already become a diesel mechanic, might as well do upholstery! Taking our boat off 8 years on stands with a prior owners' issues to resolve and actually getting to sail her this summer for the first time after a year of other projects has me itching to get this big missing cushion thing fixed so our boat looks like she should.
Last week my propeller shaft got loose and the prop blade hit and notched the rudder.
Does ayone know if the rudder will be taking on water ? If yes would it be a good idea to drill a hole in the bottom to drain the water at haulout to prevent freezing this winter?
Well lets see if I can get this blog working hehe. Lynette and I are getting ready to sell our E 42 www.endeavour.com and look for a smaller boat so we can live ashore and snow bird to the boat on the coast. Earendil the 42 is to big for us to leave for 6 months at a time here in Florida. thinking about a E 37 maybe so will be watching the 37 activity to learn about them. Now lets see if this post works :) Allen & Lynette Lofland St.Petersburg Florida Endeavour 42 "Earendil" www.Endeavour4sale.com
Our E 42 has a propane stove with a built in ignitor, we have not hooked it up as we dont know how it works, we just use a lighter :) We also have a Trident saftey panel installed. Doese any one have good info on how this thing worked and how to service it ;;
Paul. Thank you for all that you do for the endeavour owners. I am owned by a 37-A JABBERWOK and spend as much time as schedule allows sailing SF bay and off shore. Best Don Lambdin
ps. still looking to trade for a E-32, if anyone is interested.
Sorry if I seem to have been out of the loop but I've been out of town and just got back. Thanks for all the positive comments about starting the blog. I'm not sure how well it will work but we'll give it a try. Bolgs don't work like threaded discussions so it may be a bit cumbersome. If you truly want to post an issue, I'd suggest you keep doing so at the EOF Disacussion Forum (www.endeavourowners.com).
I'd assume that your rudder will take on water and I'd look at it closely. Can you dive on the rudder and inspect it while it's in the water? The good news is that it should be able to dry our when you pull the boat this fall and then fix it in the spring. You need to let the water evaporate out of it which means you'll probably need to drill some holes as well. If the damage isn't bad, you may not have to.
If the ignitor isn't working properly, they're cheap to replace. Usually you turn open the valve at the propane tank, the turn the Trident solinoid on. Now that the system is on we turn on the gas at the stove and then push the button on the ingitor which creates a spark and lights the gas at the burner.
We am near the completion of our water and fuel tank replacement project. We have bloggeg about it in some detail onmy blog at http://svwandrinstar.blogspot.com/2010/12/i-was-filling-water-tanks-when-i-heard.html and http://svwandrinstar.blogspot.com/2010/12/endeavour-42-tank-replacement-phase-ii.html the tanks are ordered and hope to install them by mid Janurary. Stay tuned for the blog on the final phase of the project.
